1956 - 1965

In 1956, businessman Bruno Ihrig founded a sole proprietorship under his name in Offenbach am Main. The company's business was trading components and accessories for oil firing systems. Four years later, the company headquarters was moved to Frankfurt am Main, and in 1964 to Jügesheim (now part of Rodgau) and later to Dudenhofen (now also part of Rodgau).

1966 - 1976

The company began manufacturing its own chemical-physical flue gas testing equipment, such as the CO2 indicator. This was followed by additional products including soot testers, CO measuring devices, and draught gauges. Through these devices, the name BRIGON, which was also registered as a trademark in 1966, became known first nationally and then worldwide.

1976 - 1985

The oil crisis made the need for energy savings clear, and environmental awareness gradually increased. The German Bundestag passed laws and regulations that led to the further development of existing devices and the development of new products. In 1982, management of the company passed to Michael Ihrig.

1986 - 1995

With the BRIGOTHERM, production of the first electronic devices began, and in 1988 the first complex flue gas analysis device, the BRIGOTRONIC 5000, came onto the market: small, handy, lightweight and with simple operation. In 1992, the BRIGON SERVICE CENTER EAST was opened in Wählitz, near Leipzig, to provide our customers in eastern Germany with fast and competent service.

1996 - 2006

In the 1990s, the development and manufacture of measuring and testing equipment for safety-related measurements on gas installations was greatly expanded. In 1999, the BRIGOVISION Color set new standards: with the help of intelligent external sensors, it became possible to perform gas leak detection, air flow measurements, or building moisture measurements, among other things.

In 1999, BRIGON MESSTECHNIK's quality management system was first certified by DQS (ISO 9001, since 2003 based on DIN EN ISO 9001:2000), ensuring the high quality standard of products and services.

Since 2004, the device test bench of the service department and the manufacture of the most important products at BRIGON MESSTECHNIK have been inspected annually by TÜV. This gives us the right to use the Oktanorm mark for these products.

2006 - 2008

The BRIGOVISION II was the consistent further development of the BRIGOVISION Color. Well-conceived and practical set configurations are available for chimney sweeps as well as HVAC craftsmen.

With the introduction of the 5 series, BRIGON MESSTECHNIK supplemented its range of flue gas measuring devices in a market-appropriate way. The requirements were for easy-to-use devices, robust enough for use on construction sites, at an attractive price. In addition, they are service-friendly and unbeatable due to BRIGON's unique fixed prices for service and maintenance.

2009 - 2019

On January 1st, after a long and extremely successful career as managing owner, Michael Ihrig entered his well-deserved retirement. With the requirement to preserve BRIGON as an independent and future-proof company, he found the suitable and committed owner in the globally active KANE Group.

With sister companies in England, France and North America as well as innovations such as long-life measuring sensors, the unique CO2 measurement in flue gases for portable measuring devices, and the transparent and unique service and maintenance costs, BRIGON is repositioning itself and setting new standards in the market.

2020

The expansion of the product range in recent years, the intelligent expansion of the company group to include branches in Central America and East Asia, make it possible to better fulfill customer wishes without reducing development and production in Germany and Europe. With the move on July 1, 2020 to Heusenstamm and the associated process optimization, BRIGON is even better positioned to quickly and cost-consciously meet the diverse customer expectations.

Due to many years of experience as well as the quality of products and services, BRIGON MESSTECHNIK is and remains one of the market leaders in the field of flue gas analysis. As a competent partner for trade and crafts, the company has a dense network of authorized service centers with qualified personnel as well as high-performance partners.

In the future, we will do everything we can to advise our customers competently and supply them with the necessary, high-quality products. All employees of the company, regardless of level or position, work toward achieving our stated great goal, namely to be Your No. 1.

2021

With the expansion of our international cooperation begun 10 years ago, the next step was now taken to make this clear to the outside world as well. On February 2, 2021, with the change of registration in the commercial register, BRIGON Messtechnik GmbH was renamed KANE Deutschland GmbH. The relocation of the headquarters from Rodgau to Heusenstamm, which had already been carried out spatially, was also registered.

This is a pure name and location change. The form of business, management and shareholders remain unchanged, as do the contact persons in the company. All general terms and conditions, agreements as well as sales and delivery conditions, etc. remain unchanged.

The BRIGON brand name will also continue to be in the foreground, combined with the long-known reliability and quality of the products and services.

2024

With the introduction of our unique BRIGON TRUST and TRUST+, we are increasing our commitment to offering the best, simplest and most transparent service for our customers for up to 20 years. Along with this, the new measuring devices BRIGON 655, approved for official measurements, and the successor to the legend still in service by the thousands, the BRIGOVISION III.
